this doesn't apply anymore because the current version no longer asks for credentials. on the older versions when you double clicked an item and it asked for credentials to update the item, clicking cancel would still take you to the screen to update an item.

Do you have to be connected to the internet for your license key to be accepted?

When an item is double clicked to modify the transaction, if the user clicks cancel, it will go to modify the transaction anyway.
