Run time error 339

    Run time error 339

    Howdy,

    I am getting error 339 when first trying to run stock, this is happening immediately after being prompted to update the database. The file the EM quotes is MSCOMCTL.OCX, I have tried reinstalling stock and stock.mdb, as well as replacing and re registering MSCOMCTL.OCX, all to absolutely no avail.

    Any Ideas??

    This is the 2nd report we have of this.  Are you running Vista by any chance?

    Yes sorry forgot to mention that, Windows Vista Home Basic..

    OK, we think this issue is happening on some or all Vista machines.  In meantime, I would suggest trying 3.4x version, whilst  we investigate why its not installing correctly under Vista.

    Also just noticed, that Vonage Click-2-Call is producing the exact same error. You gotta love Vista.

    We have the fix:

     Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6000]
    Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

    C:\Users\Trev Broughton>REGSVR32 /U mscomctl.ocx

    C:\Users\Trev Broughton>REGSVR32 mscomctl.ocx

    C:\Users\Trev Broughton>

    Basicly run those two commands as above, and then was fine. Both Stock and PCTill and stock as well as Vonage Click2Call now work, so I am happy.

    Any q's PM me but basically, I googled it and found people have this issue with masses of apps on Vista, as far as I can make out MS do not seem to acknowledge the existence of the issue and reinstalling VB common doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

    Are you running Vista?

     

    If so, click Windows icon in bottom left, type cmd and press Enter.  In the black window, type the regsvr32 commands stated above.
