I am having problems with the speed of our epson T88III.

Everything has been install correctly and I folowed all the guidelines here.

The only thing I am having problems is with the speed on printing receipts.

It takes quite some time until it finishes printing and only then the cash drawer opens. I have tried to tweek this but I can't see anything else I can do!

If I do a quick Test print by Hold the feed button and switching off and on if print fine and fast but when on windows is very slow.

I am using the APD V4 setting and Drawer with Printer on Port 0

Printer is attached to Com1 and running it on a XP pro Machine

What is the baud rate set to - we recommend the fastest that both printer and PC can do

at the moment is 9600

 

If I change to high rate i.e 19200 the drawer stops from opening and the printer just prints this:

???????????????????????

???????????????????????

 

you need to change both pc end and printer end (printer set by dip switches on that model)

It's working now altough I changed on the SCM for printer TM-88 instead of epson APDv4 keeping the sme baud rate 9600

Be aware the direct driving of TM88 will be removed at some point in the further, with APD being preferred method.

Check APD settings, ensure you are not sending text as Windows fonts.

I have to revert to APD because the drawer wont open. Doing that i still cannot speed up the receipt printout.

I am stuck now.

Have you increased baud rate to max? Have you, within apd driver itself, ensured that the driver uses built in fonts?
