Hi all, new to the forum and was hoping someone could help me?

i have installed both stock manager and pc till, when i open the software i meet the config screen, use jetbase - UNc name of DB

how do i configure the file path? i typed in c:\stock\stock.mdb i think thats the one (got it from the user guide)

but it still doesnt work!

Did you download stock.mdb (http://www.lettronics.com/default.asp?page=lredownloads&fileid=8) to c:\stock\stock.mdb ?

Stock.mdb is the Jet database file and must exist

I installed the stock and till programs, but I did not read the instalation guide and entered the maneger key where I was supposed to enter the file path. Since them it comes up with a error message-        Run-time error '2147467259 (8000405)': for both programs. I unistalled and deleted everything and re-downloaded and re-installed all again a few times and also restarted my computer everytime and the problems still the same. what do I do?

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

"c:\program files\stock\stock.exe" /configdb:y

I cannot get the c:\stock\stock.mdb to load.

I cannot find a program to open this when STOCK icon is executed.

I'm assuming .mdb means Microsoft Data Base so I'm probably missing some Microsort software that I currently do not run, like say Microsoft Professional Office...!  Also what does Jet database file pertain to...?

Please let me know what additional Data Base software that has to be installed in order to get the database up and running.

In addition you might want to mention this SMALL point at the beginning of your run manual.

No, you do not need Microsoft Access or similar. Have you followed the quick start guide (http://www.lettronics.com/default.asp?page=lredownloads&fileid=25 (this is a PDF so will need the Acrobat Reader to view)).

Once Stock Control Manager and PCTill are installed, you run these that then use that stock.mdb file directly.

On another computer that has Microsoft Access it opens access but won't open the file

because of the unsecured website it's coming from.

Boy I would really like to get this thing running to review it, any other ideas...?

Why are you trying to open stock.mdb?

Do NOT try to open that file (not unless you have advanced needs, but that can come later).

Have you installed Stock Control Manager? And PCTill?

I have it going now, after I downloaded the stock.mdb it was in my download directory so I thought I was suppose to run it to extract some other files.

I'm doing configuration now and am very excited about this.

One thing though, on your instguide, page 5 you need to correct the: 

'Make a note of the TillID near the top right -'

I think it should be:

'Make a note of the TillID near the top left -'
