when Itry to install v3.5.0 it wants to update db to v9 I say okay and get thie folling error message

Run Time Error '-2147217900 (80040e14)'

Syntax error in CREATE TABLE statement

this is using a fresh download of stock.mdb from website

please help!!

 

You got the latest MDAC, plus Jet 4 SP8 installed (downloadable from MS)?

I too have this problem, am running Vista with all the latest updates and latest version of Msjet40.dll and MDAC according to microsoft, I am also running on this Pc Access 2003 SP3.

I have tried it as an upgrade on this PC and as a fresh install on a PC running XP with access 2000 again with the up to date files.

I get the same error on both PC's

Now get the following error if upgrading current database

 Error Code -2147217900 (80040e14)

 Table 'Repairs' already exists.

 However if I do a fresh install it works, I will try to import the data across

Very pleased with the current version, have been testing it for a few weeks and will go live tomorrow, have created an additional database which links to the stock database and this produces custom reports from the data collected.

Now want to explore the additional features of the test version.

 We find you till perfect for our business, simple to use and set up, and we can get useful data from it in the running of our volunteer ran museum

Just tried it again on a copy of my current database as I thought there was an earlier error, which was, only happens once then you get the table error as above.

 Error Code -21472179887 (80040e21)

 scaling of decimal value resulted in data truncation

 Importing the data is messy, so a straight upgrade would be best.

Glad you're now working OK.

V3.5.0 is still beta, but it sounds like you understand the risks that entails, and understand about keeping good backups, and how to retrieve data from the database should something unexpected happen
