    EPOS SETUP

    Hi All,

I am having a major problem setting up the system.  I have installed all programs and all work great.

The problem is that I am using the system on a French computer.  When  use it with my barcode scanner i need to swap the keyboard language to english, to be able to inout the number correctly.

When I enter a price, it accepts it into the database, but when i then scan the number on the till side of the system, it rounds the pennys up to a round figure.  eg: 6.99 = 7.00

This is a problem because the price that is then shown is wrong.

Has anyone installed this before on a french computer ?

    Can anyone help please ?

    Regards

    Iain

    Re: EPOS SETUP

    Hi,

Not entirely sure why you would need to change language - the scanner should just type the characters in as it reads them. As the French alphabet is the same as the English one, I'm really at a loss to explain that one.

Also, cannot explain the problem you are seeing with currency, as the Euro is similar to UK Pound, ie, 100 cents to a Euro, so shouldn't be any rounding.  Are you saying when you enter an item in database for, lets say 1.99 (1 euro, 99 cents), it rounds it up to 2 euro?

    Re: EPOS SETUP

Hi I realise reading through what I typed was a little confusing.  Heres is a complete rundown of adding a test item:

In SCM I typed 123456 as a stock code, this then showed "stock code not found" as expected.

I clicked yes, add the new code.  This took me to adding new details. as expected.

     I entered:

    Description - Test

    Cost Price - 1.99

Retail Price - 3.68  The markup I am using to convert stirling to euros. so a 85% markup equals 3.68 as expected

I enter the supplier and category as normal.

Then I press update.  This is all as expected.

I then exit the SCM and open the till up.

I type 123456 as the stock code and that brings up the details, which is great by the way.

Everything is showing correct apart from the price, which is now showing 3.00 ???

I have tried entering the number using both decimal points and comma's as the seperator.  And still it is doing the same thing.

I hope that this is a good enough explanation.

    Re: EPOS SETUP

Sorry I forgot to say that when I open SCM up again the price was the same as I typed in.

    Cheers Iain

    Re: EPOS SETUP

I have the same kind of problem using this system.

If I put Retail price in SCM to 199,50 it shows 199.00 in PCTill.

Even if I manually print 199,50 in @£ field and press enter it changes to 199.00 BUT

if I make it 199.50 it changes it to 199,50??

So, I go back to SCM and see following:

Cost Price 100.00 and Retail Price 199,50

If I change costprice to 100,00 it changes retail price to 199.00 by it self.

Another question, is it possible to have a cach drawer when I have a USB printer connected? The computer does not have any serial or LPT ports.

    Re: EPOS SETUP

We think this is a problem with the locale. To test, can you set to UK locale?

With regard to USB, yes, it does still kick out drawer (well it does on the TM88 we tested on).  There is a slightly more complex setup to USB receipt printers:

    Install generic text printer

    Share out printer

Map the shared printer to LPT1 (net use lpt1: \\localhost\printer)

Set the PCTill to use LPT1

Changed it from Sweden to UK and it works perfect!Big Smile

Dont know if this affects any other program, but we have to see.

    Will try the drawer later.

Thank you for your support and a great program.

    Re: EPOS SETUP

So, finally I have got the drawer.

The PC till computer is a new laptop with no LPT port, only USB.

Therefor I use a Brother USB printer with A5 papers and it work great.

Have just got a USB drawer and think that I just got me some problem...

Do you have any ideas about how to solve this?

You mentioned mapping to LPT, does this work with this kind of drawer?

    Greatfull for help!

    Re: EPOS SETUP

No idea if it will work, but try mapping the drawer in same way as printer, and using Windows Generic Text driver. Then in SCM, set the drawer to fire on the 'Send A' option.

Failing that, any documentation on the drawer, and how its fired?
