    Cash/Till Drawer - Please help.

    Ok,

I've everything setup and at the min i wont be printing any receipts.

I am looking to buy a till drawer and need to know what it should have to work with the PC Till program.
I want the till to open each time i serve a customer, but dont have a printer. Do i need a printer to make the till drawer open or not?

    Can someone please help

    Thanks

Re: Cash/Till Drawer - Please help.

We did used to sell an interface that didn't need a printer, but these have long gone, and were ISA cards (showing my age). The system should (currently) still work with some serial based drawers.

We are looking at providing a facility to run a specified program/script to allow those with unique drawers to have other options.  Our plan is to have such a facility in v4.5.1, though it could potentially make it into v4.5.0.

Obviously, this is only half the puzzle, as then you (or your drawer supplier) need to provide a script/utility to open it.

Re: Cash/Till Drawer - Please help.

In theory no as you can set the Till through SCM to activate the till drawer using either an RS-232 connection or via COM port.

My problem was that my computer didn't have either an RS-232 or COM port fitted (all USB connections) and have given up trying to get the computer to talk to the drawer until I re-build the computer!

Generally though you shouldn't have a problem.

    Cheers
