Having just gone live with the system which we are very happy with there is one thing that would be helpfull.

VAT on the receipts

So that it shows  

Total EX VAT

VAT total

and Total INC VAT

We are adding a new piece of code to cope with all Epson APD capable printers, its possible we may add whilst doing that if we find there is demand.

I also think this would be a great feature to add! At the moment, if someone needs a VAT invoice, i have to produce and print a seperate invoice with the VAT breakdown on it, so would be really helpful to be able to just have it printed on receipts.

On the topic of receipts ..............  I asked a while back if it was possible to turn the receipts off and just print them on demand.

All the options are there in Till sw like recall receipt, print receipt, print last.

But there is no option to turn off printing all the receipts.

Is this possible ? or hard to add ?

There is a way that works fro low volume work, we dont have a thermal printer (see primemark post as to why) but our till is linked to a networked laser, we dont want to printer everyone a A4 receipt so we have the printer on pause!

If someone buys a high value item all i do is:- cancel all docs, then un-pause, send the receipt through, then pause once again.

As i said its not perfect but it seems to work for us, untill our thermal printer arrives..... (or we get money back to buy one else where!)

Any new on VAT being added to receipts on the next update?

 

Haven't got a receipt in front of me, but pretty certain the outputs from the APD printer (which will cover TM88 and similar) does inc VAT bits on.  The Windows printer output doesn't (that I can remember!), and the legacy TM88/U9xx modules never will.

As a special treat, ability to disable printer will be implemented in v3.6.0

Receipts will still print for 'unfinished' receipts, and for any receipts you specifically print - this feature will only give option to surpress the ones that would normally pop out at end of a finished transaction.

Currently, the setting is only valid for the time that PCTill is loaded, then it defaults back to enabling the printer.

Sorry to sound stupid, APD is? is it the USB interface thats is going to be released in the next version?

im guessing legacy you mean serial comm ports etc.

APD - Epson's Advanced Printer Driver

Legacy - Direct printer control via ESC/POS

 

The APD one will support all current interfaces for Epson TM printers.
